综合新浪网易等报道，《经济观察报》执行总编仲伟志、《经济观察报》社论委员会召集人首席评论员《观察家》主编孟雷、《中国新闻周刊》执行副主编陈海、中科招商投资管理公司执行副总裁卞华舵等日前已经从各自单位离职，创立了一家名为北京远见文化传播的公司，并且已经拿到了2000万元的天使投资，投资方是山西一家从事传统制造业的企业。
据仲伟志撰文称他们要做一个中国领先的商业文化传媒机构，“这将是一个新型文化传播平台，它摆脱了传统营利模式的单一化与局限性。在期刊图书出版、商帮价值开发、网络传媒运营、区域经济策划、商业旅行服务等领域，“我们将有明显的差异化表现”。
仲同时透露，远见传播的第一阶段，将运营一本新型杂志，建设一个新型智库，构造一个新型电子商务平台。据网易科技报道，杂志的名称暂定为《商业地理》，融合了商业、人文和时尚。仲伟志表示这本杂志将在2010年元旦正式推出为月刊形式。这本杂志将不会从产业（财经、科技）的角度，而是从地理、探索等角度去写商业故事
